Amazon Q Developer setup for command line
In the age of sophisticated IDEs, command-line interfaces (CLIs) are still very popular with developers for quick tests and builds. In Part 2 of the book, we will look at how you can use Amazon Q Developer with command lines, but first, we need to ensure that Q is installed and set up for the command line.
Things are constantly evolving, but currently, Amazon Q Developer for the command line is supported only with macOS. There are a handful of shells, terminal emulators, terminal IDEs, and over 500 CLIs supported. Always refer to the AWS documentation for newly supported environments.
Since we are using macOS with the zsh shell terminal, we will guide you through the installation steps for it:
