Getting Started with Power BI
Visualizing data to understand "what is going on" in the business: this is the first and ever-present need that organizations have when leveraging data. Unsurprisingly, business intelligence applications are the earliest to be adopted in a company and precede by months (or even years) the arrival of their "sexier" advanced analytics counterparts. However excited and impatient we can—understandably—be about the wonders of predictive and prescriptive capabilities powered by machine learning algorithms, a simple online dashboard showing the evolution of key business metrics can easily dominate in short-term potential. Making data accessible to a broad community of employees will multiply the probability of identifying business opportunities and promoting more conscious and effective data-based decisions by business managers.
