The Universe development life cycle


The Universe development life cycle is very close to the project life cycle because it is a project or part of a project at the end. A typical BI project will require the following deliverables:

  • A rich and user-friendly presentation layer that can be used by end business users to build their own reports and on-the-fly analysis

  • A set of standard reports and analysis

  • Training for end users on how to use the presentation layer and standard reports

Each deliverable will pass through the standard project life cycle starting with the initiation phase and ending with the close phase. Here, we will focus on the Universe development life cycle phases mentioned as follows:

  • Initiation

  • Planning and design

  • Implementation and development

  • Quality assurance (QA) and testing

  • Closing

We will discuss each phase in the upcoming sections.
