Introducing the application – Validating grants
For this chapter and the next, imagine you are working for an organization that gives monetary grants to projects. For example, this could be the Department of Education giving away $100,000 to projects that will teach AI in high schools, or a non-profit organization such as the Gates Foundation giving $1,000,000 away to the three best proposals to eradicate malaria. The same concept also applies to several processes in corporations: for example, before sending a quote to a customer, a corporation may require that it fulfills some requirements, such as having a price, an expiration date, and some legal language. Another example is submitting visa applications in the United States. Lawyers must send several documents documenting the candidate’s academic and professional skills, in addition to several forms.
