A warehouse management system (WMS) is a system that controls all warehouse operations and is oriented to leverage the performance of the warehouse, optimizing its process flows to achieve better times and dispatch orders faster. So, often, we relate these systems with a barcode scanner, but it is much more than that. Facilities that use WMSs in their warehouse design every step of a picking flow to optimize their business.

There are different types of WMSs, such as standalone WMSs, which we need to integrate with our ERP, or the Warehouse management module of Dynamics 365, which is part of the ERP; this allows us to easily connect with related modules, such as sales, procurement, and transportation.
