Inventor Stress and Simulation – Workflow and Techniques
Autodesk Inventor can conduct a variety of accurate Finite Element Analysis (FEA) studies on models and assemblies. The Inventor environment used to facilitate this is known as the Stress Analysis environment, located in the Environments tab in both the Part and Assembly ribbons. FEA is a computerized method for simulating and predicting how parts and products react to real-world forces, vibration, heat, fluid flow, and other physical effects. FEA can be used to simulate whether a product will fail, work, or when the life cycle of the product will end. The advantage of using FEA in your design process is that products can be tested and optimized before expensive, real-world prototypes are made. FEA enables you to fail early and fast in the design process, which results in a more optimal solution that is validated and brought to market more quickly.
FEA is a complex and large topic that requires very specialist analysis...
