Starting with a cloud strategy
The major hyperscale cloud providers (such as Microsoft, Amazon, and Google) may disagree on a few things when it comes to the best ways to build and operate workloads in the cloud. But one of the things they agree on is that operational excellence makes up one of the pillars of well-architected cloud solutions. Operational excellence is a business function and set of practices that include design and governance decisions to achieve the following goals:
- Develop and run workloads effectively
- Manage resources and efficiently monitor their operations
- Continuously improve processes that support systems' reliability and workload efficiency
