Storage in vSphere 6.0
With vSphere 6.0, VMware makes its entry to the storage market. Especially, the hypervisor and virtual architecture of vSphere 6.0 implements the opportunity to address raising challenges in the storage industry. The hypervisor is appropriately placed in the infrastructure stack, and has the ability and control to make decisions pertaining to the demands of virtual applications, with the supply of underlying infrastructure.
vSphere 6.0 aims to transform storage, bring operational efficiency, and improve virtual infrastructure computing capabilities. Virtualizing storage resources into logical virtual machine centric pools of capacity, which can be flexibly consumed, is the add-on from the vSphere 6.0 to the available storage systems. Also, with the new vSphere, automation of delivery of storage service levels to applications through a standard protocol based approach remains common across all tiers of storage.
