In this chapter, we got started by opening up Affinity Designer for the first time and learning about the registration panel with its quick access links to the Affinity store, your Affinity account, and other online resources. We discovered the Affinity Designer welcome panel with its sample files, links to tutorials, user forums, and social media pages.
We then took a look at setting up a new document and explored some of the various settings and options available to you when you are creating a new document and for editing an existing documents' settings.
Finally, we navigated our way through an extended look into Affinity Designer's powerful Artboard system, exploring the uses and benefits of Artboards and what makes them so well adapted for a flexible daily workflow.
