During this book, I have referred to the Spotfire server. In a lot of cases, the Spotfire server will be installed on-premises, that is, as part of your own enterprise's internal IT infrastructure. TIBCO Cloud Spotfire is a multi-tenant Software as Service (SaaS) offering. TIBCO Spotfire Cloud Enterprise is a private Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering. It just happens to be managed by TIBCO and hosted on a cloud provider.
If you are using TIBCO Spotfire Cloud Enterprise, then none of the security-based limitations of TIBCO Cloud Spotfire apply. For example, extensions can be deployed to a Cloud Enterprise server, and you can run IronPython scripts on web player instances.
