Building Exterior Elements and Using the Extension Warehouse
After working with the Chapter 5 practice file, our As-Built Floor Plan is almost complete; we now need to construct the exterior elements. We will build a flat roof (not the roof deck or sheathing but the visible part) with a plain parapet, add architectural elements to the building’s exterior, create branding signage using 3D text, and learn how to use sections. This chapter (finally!) introduces you to the Extension Warehouse interface, which has been mentioned in many chapters of the book so far. The bulk of this chapter is for architects and commercial designers who frequently need to focus on a building’s exterior.
Our main topics are as follows:
- Creating a flat roof with a plain parapet
- Using the Extension Warehouse
- Adding architectural elements to a building’s exterior
- Carrying a client’s brand from inside to outside
- Including sections
- Other valuable exterior...
