Making the joint template
For the pieces to be able to lock together, there needs to be some type of tab or extrusion that fits between adjoining pieces. This joint should also only allow for the pieces to fit together in one way so that the puzzle is more challenging to assemble. To create these joints, we are first going to create a template that will be copied and reused to make the connection joints on each piece later in the Adding the joints section:
- To start creating the joints, we can first add a Sphere shape to our design with the default dimensions of 20 mm in LxWxH, as shown in Figure 18.10:

We are using a Sphere shape to create the connection joints because its rounded structure will allow for the joints to be 3D printed without needing any support later on.
