Creating courses
Once the Add a new course button has been clicked from within the Course categories screen, Moodle directs you to the screen where course details have to be entered. We already came across this screen during earlier chapters. These details are identical to the course settings that can be edited from within a course by a user with teaching rights. The only difference is that, by default, the teacher does not have the right to change the category to which the course belongs.
The following settings are available:
Setting |
Description |
---|---|
Category |
Category to which the course belongs. |
Course full name |
The full name of the course (displayed at the top of the screen and in the course listings). |
Course short name |
Many organizations have a short form for referring to a course. This field is compulsory as it is used in several places where the full name is inappropriate (such as in the breadcrumb trail or when uploading users in batch files). |
