Summary
In simple terms, to successfully implement observability, different parts of the organization must work toward a single vision. Management must evangelize this vision and encourage and empower various stakeholders and actors to make changes to their processes and ways of working to aid this observability journey. Each of these stakeholders directly or indirectly contributes to or actively participates in its implementation and/or governance. How well these stakeholders perform and cooperate will ultimately dictate the success of observability.
In this chapter, we provided descriptions of drivers, users, actors, and supporters. We also gave you a RASCI matrix to help you understand how all these stakeholders work together. You may or may not be able to neatly identify them in your organization initially, but keep them in mind while planning your observability implementation.
