Exploring the Power Platform

The Microsoft Power Platform is a set of applications that allows power users without developer skills to automate business processes and to build business applications.

The Power Platform is currently constituted by four different applications:

  • Power Apps: Transforms any power user in an app builder. We have seen Power Apps in the previous chapter and how you are able to build custom forms for Microsoft Lists. While Power Apps are an integral part of the Power Platform, we will not cover them any further in this chapter, and rather provide more information on the other applications.
  • Power Automate: Allows you to automate processes and repetitive tasks by creating so-called flows. With more than 400 connectors, you can connect to multiple applications from different providers.
  • Power BI: Highlights the information that matters with custom reports. You will be able to find virtually anything that is hidden at first glance in your data.
