Installing XenApp Commands on XenApp Servers
Windows Server 2008 R2 includes Microsoft PowerShell 2.0 preinstalled, so we just need to install XenApp Command to start using it. If we are using a previous version of Windows, we need to download (for free) and install Microsoft PowerShell 2.0 from the Microsoft website.
We have two options to install XenApp Commands:
Download the Citrix XenApp 6.5 PowerShell SDK (which includes the XenApp Command cmdlets), the SDK helps us to manage XenApp 6.5 farms using PowerShell, and also provides PowerShell cmdlets to manage common Citrix components and group policies. This is the recommended option. If we have a XenApp 6.0 farm, we need to download the Citrix XenApp 6.0 PowerShell SDK.
Download Citrix XenApp Commands. This pack allows PowerShell to manage XenApp 4.5, 5.0, and 6.0 farms.
All these tools are available for download at http://community.citrix.com/display/xa/Download+SDKS.
