Organizing content on Alteryx Server
With a centralized location for your Alteryx data pipelines, you need methods to manage your published content. Alteryx has built three ways of organizing the content you have published on your server; My Workspace, Districts, and Collections. Navigation links to My Workspace and District can be immediately seen in the left-hand navigation menu from the Server Gallery home page. The navigation link for Collections appears in the same navigation menu after you have authenticated to the server. These three features provide different capabilities for managing your data and allow varying access requirements.
The primary deciding factor is what security controls you apply when deciding on what organizational method you want to use. User access defines each organization's method and then provides different capabilities once that access is restricted. The high-level controls are as follows:
