No network connectivity
As a cloud-first OS, internet connectivity is of the utmost importance to ChromeOS. Without a solid internet connection, many of the features and applications that make ChromeOS exceptional become unavailable. Therefore, administrators must have an understanding of how to resolve network connectivity issues regardless of the type of network their device is connecting to.
If you are having issues connecting to an Ethernet network (that is, wired internet connection), check the following:
- Ensure that your network cable is properly connected.
Make sure that the Ethernet network cable is properly plugged into your ChromeOS Ethernet port or USB-to-Ethernet adapter and into your internet source (for example, router, network switch, network wall jack, et cetera).
If properly connected, you will see the Connected to Ethernet message in the status tray.
- Try connecting a different device using the same Ethernet cable.
