Determining project goals

While contemplating building a new framework, you must identify your project’s objectives and stakeholders. These two factors are the main drivers behind your time and investment into building something new. Embarking on a new framework project requires understanding potential motivators and a clear insight into the goals, emphasizing the developer you support and their needs. These reasons can range from internal work use cases to open source hobby projects. Your scenario may very well differ but based on Figure 5.1, we can explore the first pillar—project goals—as part of this section.

Comprehending the context of a project is fundamental to guiding its development and ensuring it meets the needs of its intended users.
