If you've been following along with this book, you've already used Cloud Storage on a few occasions, both directly and indirectly. So far, we've relied on Cloud Storage for staging applications during App Engine deployments, storing Docker images in Google Container Registry, storing startup scripts for Compute Engine, and exporting data from Datastore and Cloud SQL. When using Google Cloud, there's really no getting around Cloud Storage.
Google Cloud Storage is an incredibly versatile general purpose storage solution. As we've seen, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all solution to storage, Cloud Storage provides a wealth of features and integrations that can be tailored to the needs of almost any use case. Almost any significantly complex solution on Google Cloud will likely incorporate Cloud Storage to some degree. With rich access control and automated lifecycle management features, Cloud Storage makes managing data at scale a straightforward and simple process.
