Troubleshooting is at the heart of resolving issues and being able to perform troubleshooting with a high level of efficiency and focused methodology will drive your MTTR down. We’ve reviewed a number of techniques; you should be mindful of what technique you are using. When you find yourself unable to define what troubleshooting process you are employing, or worst, guessing what might fix the issue, it’s time to stop, regroup, and reattack.
In the next chapter, we’ll start getting deeper into the management of systems and infrastructure, an exploration into a rockstar-level SRE understanding of the foundation of the code.
