Defining rooms and spaces using the Zone tool
One of the major design elements, and the element that defines your design, is the space or room. In Archicad, you can model spaces using the Zone tool. In contrast with the other tools we’ve discussed so far, this is an intangible object. You don’t build a space; instead, you create the elements that surround it, such as walls, slabs, or ceilings.
A space is mainly defined by its contour and height. This creates a volume to which information can be attached. When you activate the Archicad Zone tool (Design > Architectural Tools > Zone), you must decide between the manual and automatic Zone tool Construction Method (press C to toggle between the available methods).

The following methods are available for the Zone Tool:
