Setting up your first Archicad project
When you launch Archicad, you are presented with a welcome screen, which gives you a few options to open a project. You can open one of your recent previous projects, using the tiles, browse for a local file, connect to a BIMcloud project, or you can start a new one from scratch based on one of the available templates:

When you do select to create a new project, you can choose the template and work environment profile you want to use for this project. Since at this point in this book, you lack the experience to develop a template for yourself, you are advised to stick to the template(s) installed by default. This, again, depends on the language version of Archicad you have access to:
