Hyper-V servers
In this section, your goal is to protect your Microsoft Hyper-V servers using native and built-in tools. As mentioned in the earlier sections of this book, we can divide an application server into four different components: server type, operating system, access mechanism, and data.
If there are no other business or technical requirements, it is recommended to use the Windows Server Core operating system for Hyper-V servers.
Applying baseline security
For this application, we will again start with baseline security. Based on your business and technical requirements, baseline policies can be created and implemented using Microsoft SCW and Microsoft SCM. The Hyper-V security template is available by default in Microsoft SCM. It can be customized based on your requirements.
