Configuring Cluster-Aware Updating for cluster nodes
With regard to Windows Updates, one of the most complicated tasks in earlier Windows versions was the process of updating a cluster. The whole procedure was manual and required a lot of effort to guarantee that all nodes within the clusters were up to date.
Windows Server 2012 first introduced Cluster-Aware Updating (CAU), which automatically installs updates for all node members of a cluster in a synchronized and orchestrated way. Once CAU is able to do all the jobs with no user interaction, it allows enterprises to update their clusters in a dynamic and automated process, saving costs, time, and resources otherwise spent on running updates on clusters. As a result, it will reduce outages in clusters when running updates, and reduces your tasks for manual updates.
CAU will be responsible for checking, downloading, and installing all available Windows updates packages, and installing them with minimum or no downtime for the services running...
