This book uses the designs and models created by Carré Design Studio, Heather Hilliard Design, JayJeffers Inc., jbA Architecture, Kelly Hohla Interiors, Madeleine Draper, Nat Ellis, Picciotti Design, and SketchUp School for demonstration purposes with their approval.
Measurements in the book are presented in US customary units.
Links to download practice models from 3D Warehouse are provided in the Technical requirements section of the respective chapter.
If you are accessing 3D Warehouse within a SketchUp file, avoid directly inserting it into your existing model. Instead, download it as a separate SketchUp file to preserve the scenes we've created. If you need help with how to do this, consult Chapter 7 for 3D Warehouse guidance.
This book focuses on SketchUp for Desktop software, whether SketchUp Pro or SketchUp Studio, which are paid subscriptions within SketchUp's suite. Pro and Studio include SketchUp LayOut, which we will also teach and use in this book (Chapters 12 and 13). You will require the following:
- A SketchUp Pro or SketchUp Studio subscription
- A Trimble ID SketchUp login and an internet connection to access 3D Warehouse
