Line overlay

Overlaying SketchUp lines on a rendering is a quick way to stylize a final image. That is one way to use the PIE, mentioned in the Postproduction section.

Lift up furniture

One method to create contact shadows under furniture and other objects on the floor is to move them up by about 1/8". For example, looking at the Chapter 14 practice model, the coffee table, ottomans, and side table are slightly lifted off the rug.

Rendering with shadows

Do not work in SketchUp with shadows turned on. Working with shadows will slow performance, even in small models. If you want to utilize shadows in a rendering...
