Questions that drive requirements

There are several questions that help narrow down or open up hardware requirements:

Will the network owner provide equipment, or will the team use their own?
Is the team allowed to bring their own equipment?
Will the team be allowed to return with their equipment, or will it have to stay behind?
Are there any space, power, cooling, noise, or transportation limitations? When transporting equipment, it needs to arrive and work:
- Just because a box technically meets United States airline requirements, it does not mean that the equipment inside will be fully functioning. Even cases that are designed to be rugged and hold sensitive equipment can be opened and their contents adjusted.
- Each country has its own unique flying requirements, some with much smaller checked baggage allowances than others. If flying between multiple airlines, ensure that all of the aircraft can handle the bags your team brings.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from Western Governors University in 2018. Additionally, William has accomplished the following certifications: Security+, Linux+, Project+, Network+, GCFA, GPEN, GNFA, GREM, GDAT, GCDA, GSEC, GCIA, GCIH, SSAP, GCFE, and GCTI. Currently, he is a senior leader within a cyber hunting organization providing planning, coordination, integration, and execution of defensive teams that track and eradicate adversaries on customer networks.

Jeremiah Ginn is a husband, father, teacher, engineer, architect, author, advocate, and lives a life focused on investing in those that cross his path.
