Adjusting brush settings using the context toolbar
So far, we have covered how to adjust brush settings inside the Brushes panel. However, in an individual project, you can adjust the brush settings using the context toolbar. This toolbar comes up when you select the brush tool. It is highly recommended that you do not adjust the individual brushes and instead use the context bar. This is because, for each job, an adjustment will need to be made. If you adjust the brushes constantly inside the Brushes panel, you won’t have a predictable baseline for behavior.
Reading the context toolbar for brushes
Figure 9.11 shows the context toolbar for the brush tool. This is where you can adjust the settings of your brush without impacting the settings in the Brushes panel. So, on a piece-by-piece basis, this is where you will make your adjustments. If you adjust the brush settings in the brush itself, the changes will be permanent from there on out, so I do not recommend that approach...
