Becoming a network architect is a multi-faceted journey that requires a blend of technical/business acumen, strategic thinking, and continuous learning. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining intricate communication systems that underpin our digital world. Network architects need a strong foundation in networking protocols, security practices, and infrastructure design.
However, as technology and IT philosophy evolve, so should a network architect. Subsequently, you should step outside of your comfort zone and begin to incorporate (maybe adapt to) other paradigms, such as embracing Dev(Sec)Ops, programming and scripting, AI/ML, IoT, SASE/SD-WAN, and others.
