Take SharePoint documents offline using Outlook 2010
Outlook 2010 has great two-way integration with SharePoint document libraries. This recipe shows you how to use it to take your document libraries offline.
Getting ready
This recipe works for:
SharePoint 2010 Foundation
SharePoint 2010 Standard Edition
SharePoint 2010 Enterprise Edition
Office 365 (SharePoint Online)
You will need the Contribute permission level to enable the two-way integration between Outlook 2010 and your document library. You will need the Reader permission level if you just want to take the document offline, but not make changes or send new documents back.
You will need a SharePoint site with a document library. This recipe uses a SharePoint 2010 Team Site for illustration.
How to do it...
Open the SharePoint Team Site with the document that you want to connect to outlook.
Open the Shared Documents link in the Quick Launch menu.
In the Library Tools ribbon, select the Library tab.
