Summary
This chapter has reviewed SOBRs and their components. We took a look at standard repositories and how users create them. We indicated the type of servers you can use for a repository in the scale-out, such as Windows (ReFS) and Linux (XFS). We covered how to add a standard repository to a scale-out. We also covered how to create a standard repository using object storage and how to set up the capacity tier of a scale-out to use this repository. After reading this chapter, you should now be able to work with scale-out repositories and be able to set up and configure them for use with backup jobs.
Hopefully, you will now have a better idea of scale-out repositories. The next chapter, Chapter 5, Windows and Linux – Proxies and Repositories, will take a deep dive into one of the standard repository features available for scale-out.
