Time for action—adding harmonies to beats

Now that our new instrument is in the Beat+Bassline Editor, let's make it say something. Instead of just droning along on the same note, we want to have each step change pitch:

  1. Right-click on the steps' area, and choose Open in piano-roll:
Time for action—adding harmonies to beats
  2. Now let's find the pitch of our notes, which are playing the new instrument:
Time for action—adding harmonies to beats
  3. The note pitch is A4. Let's move these notes around a bit by clicking and holding on them, then dragging them to the positions we want:
  4. Now hit the Space bar, and we'll hear the new pitches playing back.
  5. We should now add additional notes above these notes we've just moved around. Place the following notes on our Piano-Roll by clicking in Piano-Roll with the pencil:
Time for action—adding harmonies to beats
  6. Hit the Space bar to listen to the new notes in the Piano-Roll editor.
  7. Now, close the Piano-Roll and click again on the Beat+Bassline Editor. Hit the Space bar, and listen to where our new instrument plays now.
