The language of synthesis

Most software-based instruments that we encounter in the world speak a similar language that has been developed for over decades. To break things down, we are going to learn the following:

  • The main parts of an instrument
  • The parameters that can be changed on each section
  • How to change parameters over time using modulation techniques

The main parts of an instrument

To learn how to program a synthesizer, we are going to use the Triple Oscillator synth. Create a new project, and drag a Triple Oscillator instrument from the sidebar to the song editor:
