Checking the OS version

We will be using the same Vagrantfile that was used in the previous section.

In this section, we're going to list the canonical version of our operating system, as well as the kernel version.

We will also take a look at the concept of LSB compliance.

CentOS

We can determine the version of our CentOS installation by printing the contents of the centos-release file, as follows:

$ cat /etc/centos-release
CentOS Linux release 7.5.1804 (Core)
