We have not addressed the issue of redundancy and high availability in this volume so far, and topics such as redundancy and load balancing are, for the most part, beyond the scope of this book. Nonetheless, ensuring that our networks have a reliable connection to the internet is something which we should be concerned about. If you operate a business, you will want to ensure that access to the internet is always available, and you will want to eliminate single points of failure and make sure that you are getting the most out of the available bandwidth. We can do this by implementing a multi-WAN setup. Fortunately, pfSense makes the task of setting up multiple WAN interfaces easy.
