Creating a flow chart using connectors
A flowchart is a graphical representation of a process, be it an algorithm or a business procedure. Many Office packages offer some sort of application to create them. However, wouldn't it be great to use a powerful program like Inkscape to create some truly spectacular diagrams... or at least make them less boring to read?
This recipe will show us how to create charts in Inkscape using the Connector tool and some other useful helpers.
How to do it...
The following steps will demonstrate how to create charts:
1. Open the Document Properties (Shift + Ctrl + D) and under the Grids tab create a new Rectangular grid. Set Spacing X: and Spacing Y: to 10.
2. Select the Rectangle tool (F4 or R) and create a wide rectangle. Set its fill to
