Introduction
We named this last chapter after the official motto of Inkscape: to "draw freely" is to create art without limitations of expression, functionality, and freedom. Although version 0.48 is the latest and greatest release of Inkscape currently available (with 0.49 coming very soon), there are still areas where it can be improved and expanded; both from a developer's and user's point of view. Being open source and libre, you'll be happy to know that anybody can do that, by reading the source code and start hacking right away! Creating an extension for something you find useful will probably be useful to others too, and testing Inkscape development builds and reporting bugs is an excellent way of contributing back to the community. Moreover, to "draw freely" means to be unrestricted by physical and digital barriers, as you will want to share and distribute your work for others to enjoy and appreciate.
