In Chapter 1, Introducing Hybrid Clouds, we discussed the concept of the hybrid cloud. To recap, a hybrid cloud is a combination of a public and a private cloud connection, using a secure network.
The following steps must be carried out to set up a hybrid cloud environment:
- Choose the public cloud provider and set up the cloud account (for example, AWS, Azure, and so on).
- Install and configure your private cloud environment (for example, OpenStack).
- Establish a connection between the public and private cloud using a VPN by creating a gateway and setting up networking and routing configurations.
