A virtual software company is a program where the members of a company are comprised of AI agents. So, the CEO, the chief technology officer (CTO), the chief product officer (CPO), coders, test engineers, project managers, and so on, are all AI agents.

What is an AI agent? This is an increasingly important thing to learn about. AI agents are now available from OpenAI, along with AI assistants, but they’ve existed for a while. AI agents or intelligent agents (IAs) are things that exist in environments, have states (of being), and perform actions. Agents have sensors and actuators, which is how they can perceive their environments and perform actions. They also have some form of reasoning, even very simple switches, so they can decide what to do. Some IAs have learning abilities to help with achieving their goals. Once an agent performs an action, it checks its state and decides what action it needs to take toward its goal.
