One of the greatest parts of Unreal Engine 5 is its resources ecosystem, which allows you to obtain incredible results without ever going outside the Engine. For this reason, you can follow this book and achieve something beautiful even if you don’t have strong experience in the CGI world. But there are some prerequisites if you want to use your own assets: you need to know the fundamentals of 3D modeling, such as UVs and topology, as well as some knowledge about texturing and how it works in general. But thanks to the Unreal Engine resources ecosystem, you can easily follow along with the book without experience in CGI.
