Correlation sets in BPEL processes
We have, in this chapter, developed process templates that contain the process definitions for HandleCustomerContactProfile and TrackAndManageCustomerOrder to be deployed and installed in the runtime WPS environment. A process instance is the instantiation of a process template, and its properties are derived from the corresponding process template. A particular process instance completes in all of the following states:
Last activity completes
A terminate activity runs
A fault occurs that is not handled by the process
Instance properties, such as the state of the process instance, are assigned and modified during the lifetime of the process instance. All of these properties are stored in the runtime database. They can be accessed using the Business Process Choreographer database views, such as the PROCESS_INSTANCE view or QUERY_PROPERTY view, or using query tables.
A correlation set allows a BPEL process instance to hold conversations with the reference partners...
