The basics of modeling curtain walls
Curtain walls are assemblies of panels and members, which are often used for the façade of office buildings. Functionally, they behave like walls, as they define an enclosure between the interior and the exterior environment, or between spaces. They are not really windows or doors, but they can contain opening doors for some of their panels.
In Archicad, curtain wall is (again) a systems tool, with a hierarchical structure. It has a lot of settings, on many levels. With this section, we aim to give you a good insight into how the tool works and how you can create basic curtain walls with it.
Creating a standalone curtain wall
When you select the curtain wall tool, you can model it starting from its reference line, which can contain multiple segments or even be curved (depending on the geometry method you choose).
