Summary
In this chapter, we introduced the tools required for the creation of 2D content. We added Section and Elevation viewpoints, which help you to reuse the 3D model for creating construction drawings and other 2D documents. We also looked at the independent worksheet, which can be used when you don’t want to draw in one of the model Viewpoints. Since Archicad is effectively a complete CAD drafting software, we introduced the creation of 2D drafting elements using lines and fills, and learned the basic concepts of the Archicad attributes – the elementary particles that create the whole Archicad universe. We will get back to the attributes in the first chapter of the second part, but let us first finish this part in the next chapter by adding annotations and dimensions. We will then be ready to print the 2D output of our first project or export the result to PDF.
