The Navigator and the Project Map
Setting up the publication workflow in Archicad requires you to master navigation across a wide variety of viewpoints, views, and other model representations in Archicad. For this, Archicad provides the Navigator, which allows you to navigate around the different kinds of representations in your project.
At the top, Navigator shows four configuration tabs. We can consider these as the steps in our publishing process (a diagram of this program is shown in Figure 14.27). From left to right, we have the following:
- Project Map: The index of the entire project, containing every viewpoint of the project (once)
- View Map: Contains all defined and configured views, derived from the viewpoints using view filters
- Layout Book: Consisting of subsets (a bit like chapters) with layouts (a bit like pages) on which the views will be placed
- Publisher: Contains Publisher Sets, which translate various parts of the Layout Book and/or the View Map...
