Arranging and Orienting Components

Welcome to Chapter 8. In previous chapters, we highlighted how to design from the ground up as well as how to modify existing designs for 3D printing. At the end of Chapter 7, after having selected a printer and a print setting, we created our first Additive Manufacturing setup in order to 3D print a single component. In this chapter, we will build on that knowledge and create additive setups for different manufacturing technologies with one or more components and explore the different tools available within Fusion 360 to position those components.

Whether you’re printing a single component or hundreds of them at the same time, arranging them within the build volume and orienting them based on the desired outcome is an important consideration to get a successful print.
