Building Your Roadmap
Now that the foundations of your cybersecurity program are understood and in place, the next step is to focus on the program’s roadmaps.
If you don’t have a well-defined roadmap in place or a roadmap at all, you won’t have much structure around your program and a destination for your vision. In short, a roadmap is a plan that guides you on how to get from one place to the next to meet a desired goal. To meet that goal, you will have a pre-defined set of tasks that you will complete to get to your destination. Having a roadmap helps provide a better visual of where your program is today versus where you envision it in the future. It provides clear directions and sets expectations for your executive leadership team and board members.
