Data-Driven Network Automation Architecture

Over the last few chapters, we looked at an introduction to Nautobot, got Nautobot up and running, learned about its extensibility features, and delved into Nautobot platform administration. The focus has been on Nautobot as a Source of Truth (SoT) and overall data platform. However, Nautobot is more than an SoT—it is a network automation platform. All of the data that is stored in Nautobot can be used to power a data-driven network automation architecture. Over the next few chapters, we’ll review the relationship between data and network automation, seeing the power of Nautobot as an automation platform. Before we get into Nautobot’s role in driving network automation, we’ll look at the evolution of managed networks and the need for a data-driven approach to network automation architecture.
