Enabling Asset Discovery and Incident Management with System Center 2012 R2 Service Manager


In this recipe, we will look at the two types of connectors that are available for Operations Manager with Service Manager; the Operations Manager CI and Alert connectors can be configured to pass objects, attributes, and alerts from SCOM for use within System Center 2012 R2 Service Manager.

We will look at the options that are available when creating these connectors as well as the differences between the two types.

Getting ready

For this recipe, ensure System Center 2012 Service Manager is running within your environment and that you have the installation folder accessible during the configuration.

You will be required to create two service accounts as described in the following table:
