From the moment you open a Microsoft Word document and begin to format text, from the Home tab, you will find several groups of options designed to help you quickly do just that. Many people choose options in the Font and Paragraph groups to change the appearance of text, but fewer will notice the far more useful options in the Styles group.
You can use Word styles to not only format your document faster but to create a more consistent look throughout. Styles are also helpful for using other features in Word, such as the Table of Contents, and even for navigating long documents via the Navigation pane.
